Parish Council
Water Orton Parish Council came into being in 1974 following the Local Government Act 1972.
It has certain duties that it must undertake by law and can carry out a variety of activities within its boundary. The council listens to concerns raised by residents and does everything it can with them or liaise North Warwickshire Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council on issues that fall under their responsibility.
The Parish Council is made up 9 Councillors and Council meetings take place on the last Thursday of every month, except in December. All of the Councillors are volunteers and give their time freely for the benefit of the village.
All council and committee meetings are open to the public and there is a public participation session at each meeting when members of the public can raise any concerns or comments they have on matter relating to the village.
The Chairman of the Council is nominated by a councillor to hold this post and elected by the council at the Annual Parish Council Meeting held in May each year.
The Clerk carry’s out the day-to-day management of the Council and implements its decisions, ensuring at all times that the Council complies with all its legal requirements.
The Groundsmen are responsible for maintaining all of the Parish Councils assets and ensuring the safety of the play equipment
